Spring is right around the corner, and now is the ideal time to get your plants ready to see the light of day.
Of all of the winter gardening tips you’re reading these days, none are more important than taking the steps that will make your garden blossom in the summer sun.
- Gather your containers, and clean them up a bit. Rinse them with hot, soapy water, and remember to disinfect them with a little bleach or vinegar.
- Trim your outdoor plants, such as geraniums, up a bit. This will help them make the transition back outside a little easier.
- Set up your nursery. Make sure it has plenty of light and that it’s easy to access your seeds so you can trim them up and give them plenty of water while they grow.
- Start your seeds in your seed pots. Lettuce, onions, leeks, and early tomatoes can be started now and will be ready for transplanting when the weather warms up.
