June is one of our favorite months of the year because it’s National Rose Month. Our gardeners look forward to it each and every season.

This year, we want to share with you our favorite rose growing tips to help you grow your own prize-winning roses at home:
- Mulch liberally. The more mulch you lay down, the more difficult it will be for weeds and other plants to sprout. Plus, the mulch will help the soil retain moisture, which your roses will soak up like a sponge.
- Don’t forget to prune. Prune your roses in the spring, and be sure to remove all of the old branches and stems so that new ones can take their place.
- Keep the area around your rosebed neat and clean. Remove dead plants, leaves, and other organic elements that can help spread diseases and stunt your rose’s growth.
- Contact Rosehill Gardens if you think your roses may have contacted the Rose Rosette virus or if you need help identifying it.
The flowers are blooming at Rosehill Gardens, and we would love to share our gardening tips in Kansas City with you.
