It’s easy to change the look and feel of your landscape by simply redrawing the lines you are using to frame it within. If your landscaping in Kansas City is looking a little old and tired, refresh it by changing the outline.
By carving out new borders or changing the outline of your garden beds, you can give your landscape a whole new look and feel. By straightening them out, you can create a clean, crisp look, or by adding in some waves and curves, you can achieve a whimsical and relaxing feel.
Whichever you choose, you will want to make sure the border is distinctive. When you have everything planned out the way you want, here is how to go about creating a new border:
- Take a can of spray paint, and apply it in the grass where the new bed line will be.
- Use a spade/shovel along the line to cut down three to four inches in the soil along the painted line.
- Make 45-degree cuts, and remove the wedge-shaped sections of sod and topsoil. This will create a trench that will become a border.
- Apply mulch or other ground covering throughout the bed to finish the project off.
